FirePong is a browser game. You can play it without an account, and most people do. This page says exactly what is stored in each case. There is no analytics service, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
If you never sign in
Nothing that identifies you is stored on our servers.
- Your nickname, emoji, colour, sound preference and personal stats are kept in your own browser (local storage). They never leave your device except that your nickname and emoji are shown to other players in your game, which is the point of them.
- When a match finishes, its result is stored on our server with the nickname you were using. It is not linked to you, and it is deleted automatically after about 48 hours.
- Game rooms exist only in memory and disappear when everyone leaves.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional and exists so your results can be kept under a name only you hold.
| What | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your Google account ID | To recognise you next time. It is an opaque number, not your name or address. | Until you ask us to delete it |
| The handle you claim | So @yourname means one person |
Until you ask us to delete it |
| Your match results | The leaderboard and your profile | Until you ask us to delete them |
| Your email address | Only if you tick the box asking for it. Never otherwise. | Until you untick it, or ask us to delete it |
Google tells us your email address when you sign in. We discard it unless you have explicitly opted in. If you do opt in, it is stored separately from everything else, with the date you consented, and unticking the box deletes it immediately.
We never receive your Google password. We do not ask Google for your contacts, files, or anything beyond your account ID, name and email address.
Cookies and similar
No advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in, a token is stored in your browser so you are not asked to sign in again on every visit. Google's sign-in button may set its own cookies while you use it — that part is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Who else sees it
Nobody. Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. It sits on a single server we run. Other players see only what you would expect them to: your nickname or handle, emoji, colour, score, and anything you type in the chat.
Deleting your data
Email privacy@firepong.games from the address on your Google account, or with your handle, and everything tied to your account will be deleted. You do not have to give a reason. You can also clear the browser-side data at any time by clearing site data for this site.
Children
FirePong is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. The game itself is playable with no account and no personal data at all.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top changes with it.
